RESPONSIBILITIESProsecuting felonies and misdemeanors in district, justice, and juvenile courts;Reviewing law enforcement investigations to screen for potential charges; determining the nature of the case and whether charges should be brought; and following established procedures in preparing, processing, and pursuing charges;Performing legal research; drafting pleadings; gathering and analyzing evidence; and preparing writs, subpoenas, warrants, petitions, affidavits, and other legal documents;Representing the State at arraignments, bail hearings, preliminary hearings, trials, sentencings, and during settlement negotiations;Interviewing victims, witnesses, and law enforcement officers in preparation to present evidence at various hearings;Submitting reports to apprise the County Attorney of the status of assigned cases;Collaborating with support staff; andProviding general assistance to the public regarding various aspects of the law, legal rights, victim remedies, and related legal processes. Attorney III: ($122,877-$128,406) Graduated from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctorate Degree AND Licensed to practice law in the State of Utah AND Three (3) - Five (5) years of experience practicing as an attorney.
