The main responsibilities of the RN include but are not limited to: assessing patient vitals and withdrawal symptoms, coordinating patient care, supporting physicians in prescribing medications for opioid, alcohol and tobacco use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions, serving as main liaison with toxicology labs and pharmacies, ensuring patients have their prescribed medications by coordinating with pharmacies and completing prior authorizations, administering injectable medications, monitoring patient progress in treatment through urine drug testing and prescription monitoring and documenting/communicating results, triaging patient calls, providing patient education, engaging in multi-disciplinary rounds to determine patient care plans, and.
