With general direction of the Manager/Supervisor/Lead:
40% Follows department policies and procedures and maintains and exercises comprehensive knowledge of insurance company billing requirements and regulations to research and resolve unpaid accounts receivable, making any corrections in the professional billing system necessary to ensure balance resolution for all assigned URMFG physician services.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • High school graduate or equivalent • Bachelor's degree in healthcare or business administration • Minimum 1 year medical billing and denials, customer service and relevant finance experience in a health care organization a plus • Certification in medical billing UNION: 1199-200B Clerical Workers (CPH) • Note: Not all per diem roles are union eligible. SUMMARY: A Medical Billing and Denials Specialist is responsible for managing the billing process, submitting claims to insurance companies, following up on unpaid or denied claims, and ensuring timely reimbursement for healthcare services.
