Position Summary:Provide leadership and expertise in clinical alignment, quality, clinical effectiveness, safety, medical staff operations, resource utilization, and physician leadership developmentProvide input for and oversee the successful execution and universal adoption of the UHS Acute Care Division Quality ProgramProvide guidance to medical staffs, MECs, and medical staff services teams within the region on physician governance issues, ensuring compliance with medical staff bylaws and policies impacting the medical staff and clinical careParticipate with hospital leaders in formulating strategic planning and accomplishing institutional goals and objectives while serving as a liaison between the medical staff and administrationPosition Requirements:Minimum of 10 years of clinical practice experience, with hospital experience strongly preferredMinimum of 2 years of experience as Chief Medical Officer of an acute care hospital or health system requiredExperience participating in medical staff leadership roles and committeesMedical degree from an accredited medical schoolCompletion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in the U.S.Master's or Physician Executive advanced degree strongly preferred (MBA, MHA, MPH, MS, MHL, MMM)Active Florida or South Carolina medical licenseClean professional background and historyTravel requirements up to 75% Required Skills:Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and consensus-building skillsHighly developed organizational, leadership, and management skillsSystems thinker with demonstrated success in strategic planning, execution, and implementation of care management programsStrong knowledge and background in quality and safety, regulatory, health industry trends and direction, risk management within medical staffs, and medical staff governanceExpertise in data-driven approaches and initiatives to drive improvements in quality, safety, and patient experienceAbility to educate, mentor and provide oversight to medical staffs and support teamsExperience in supporting medical education programs (GME and UME) Universal Health Services, Inc.
