The MA shall assist with direct patient care to include performance of specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated by established clinical protocols such as; obtain patient histories, take patient vital signs, educate and advise patients on specified medical issues within established parameters, phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKG’s and immunization administration. Other duties of the MA include but are not limited to; accurate documentation in the electronic medical record, answering the clinic phone, assisting with medical referrals, orders of the physician, faxing, copying medical documents, patient check-in and check-out, scheduling and monitoring patient appointments.
