Strong Peripheral IVs (preferred), Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation, Invasive Line Management (CVP, Alines), IV Medication Titration, Vent/trach/high-flo BiPap Management (RT does manage these devices, but knowledge of them is expected). Floating to other departments happens in turn (Medsurg, ER, occasionally Mother baby but only to take care of post GYN surgical patients- no labor and delivery) ICU nurses taking an assignment in the PCU is not considered floating.
