Performs manual and semi-skilled labor tasks related to the water distribution system such as repair water main breaks and leaks, replace or install water meters, repair or replace fire hydrants, flush fire hydrants, operate valves, make water taps and install water service lines, replace broken or missing meter lids and boxes, performs re-reads and meter reading, cuts out streets and driveways; manually excavates, backfills and compacts excavated areas to facilitate repairs. Requires High School diploma or GED equivalent or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
