Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Criminal Justice, Business Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; Experience as a Deputy Court Clerk to obtain sufficient knowledge of court policies, procedures, and functions, typically gained over three (3) or more years; Experience in supervision preferred; Extensive knowledge of legal procedures documents and terminology; Strong understanding of court processes, applicable laws, rules, and procedures; Skill in the operation of computers, including word processing and database applications; Skill in communicating effectively, verbally and in writing; Skill in organization, time management, and problem-solving; Knowledge of supervision principles, concepts, and techniques; Skill in the operation of a personal computer; Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with other employees, departments, agencies and the public; Ability to work as a team player with demonstrated diplomacy skills; Ability to plan and organize work; Ability to supervise and motivate employees; Ability to communicate verbally and in writing; Ability to interpret policy and procedure manuals; Ability to explain complex information such as rules and regulations; Ability to maintain confidentiality; Ability to plan and organize work; Ability to meet deadlines; Ability to coordinate work with other agencies; Ability to lead a team to accomplish division and department goals; Work Environment & Physical Demands. Conducts team meetings; Attends and contributes to leadership meetings; Interacts with judges, attorneys, outside partner agencies, and the public; Communicates with other court clerk divisions and leadership; Creates and maintains working relationships with other offices and agencies; In conjunction with other team members and Directors, ensures new employees receive onboarding including overseeing initial job training, training scheduling, cross-training, documentation, introductions, and early-stage job shadowing to ensure clerks are prepared for a variety of court-related functions, including court procedures, data entry systems, case management practices, and customer service expectations; Provides input to the Directors on needed capital and non-capital expenditures; Performs work audits to ensure accuracy and efficiency; May participate in committees or be responsible for implementing other special projects; ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS: May perform essential functions of a Court Clerk; Performs related functions as required.
