Responsibilities: Assess patient and family needs; develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care; provide age- and culturally appropriate nursing interventions; document patient responses; identify and address educational needs; advocate for patient and family participation in care decisions; delegate care within team members scope of practice; coordinate care with healthcare professionals and ancillary staff; participate in patient care conferences; and promote safe, efficient, and therapeutic patient outcomes. The role promotes quality outcomes, advocates for patients and families, coordinates with the healthcare team, and supports care delivery in complex or high-risk clinical situations.
