Services provided by the ACNP may include, but are not limited to the following: 1) assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of identified health needs; 2) ordering and interpretation of diagnostic and/or laboratory tests; 3) formulating, documenting, and monitoring treatment plans; 4) routine wound or post-operative dressing management; 5) ordering interdisciplinary consults; and 6) ordering pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies and/or interventions. The ACNP, in collaboration with the physicians and interdisciplinary team, may provide preventive, acute, specialized and primary care services to patients consistent with the nurse’s education and certification.
