Active coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CIC, COC, CRC, • CPMA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT, CPC-A, etc.) • ï· Minimum of 1-year hands-on medical coding experience • ï· Strong working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, & HCPCS coding systems • ï· Ability to work independently • ï· Strong knowledge of MDM leveling and E/M coding guidelines • ï· Fluent written and spoken English required.â¯. • ï· Identify and resolve documentation deficiencies; communicate with providers • when clarification is needed • ï· Validates documentation supports level of service selection • ï· Utilizes coding software, encoder and other resources provided • ï· Stay current on coding updates, payer guidelines, and healthcare regulations.
