Job Summary: We are looking for a competent Credit and Collections Specialist to undertake a variety of financial and non-financial tasks in order to help guarantee the company’s revenues. You will handle the collection and resolution of account balances of an assigned portfolio. Pay: $18-$20/hr depending on experience Essential Job Functions: + Collect, manage, and provide resolution of outstanding invoices from current and past due accounts for an assigned portfolio. + Provide resolution of issues related to billing inquiries, disputes. + Identify, research, and resolve collection issues in a timely manner. + Provide assistance with unidentified payment applications. + Meet company deadlines for month end close responsibilities. + Assist with updating and improving documentation of policies and procedures related to assigned responsibilities. Specific Skills/ Attributes: + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Intermediate knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel. + Self-starter capable of adapting to meet fast paced and changing business needs. + Ability to function in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. + Able to work effectively with all levels of management. + Must demonstrate exceptional organizational and communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. II. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES <ul><li>Ensure reimbursement through efficient billing and collections operations and effective accounts receivable management. </li><li>Provide oversight and approval of claims audits and processing. </li><li>Conduct final billing audit and issues assignments to pre-billing team when findings require further documentation. </li><li>Maintain comprehensive working knowledge of payer contracts and ensures that payers are billed according to contract provisions. Represents and acts on behalf of agency in resolving conflicts with payers. </li><li>Monitor aged accounts receivables and resubmit bills to overdue accounts, submit seriously overdue accounts to collection agencies for collection, and prepare bad debt reports for weekly meetings. </li><li>Gather, collate, and report key billing information to billing team. </li><li>Establish and maintain positive working relationships with patients, family members, payers and referral sources. </li><li>Protect the confidentiality of patient and agency information through effective controls and direct supervision of billing operations. </li></ul> JOB REQUIREMENTS <ul><li>3+ years' experience in health care billing and collections management preferably in home health operations. Billing information systems knowledge required. </li><li>Knowledge of corporate business management, governmental regulations and joint Commission standards. </li><li>Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment and demonstrate good communication, negotiation, and public relations skills. </li><li>Demonstrate capability to accurately manage detailed information. </li><li>Able to deal tactfully with patients, family members, referral sources and payers. </li><li>Demonstrate autonomy, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities. </li></ul> About Seaport Scripps Home Health We are part of the Pennant Group, a nationwide network with 300+ locations.
