Typical Functions: Administers an institution, community correction, or work camp health care delivery program; ensures compliance with departmental policy and procedures; supervises and directs the activities of employees in the medial unit which includes, but is not limited to, doctors, pharmacists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, emergency medical technicians and medical records technicians. Level Descriptor: At this level incumbents serve as administrators of a health care unit which service an average inmate population of over 1,400 or directs a health care facility or medical unit that provides acute infirmary services within a correctional institution or facility.
