The Crime Analyst applies knowledge of Texas laws, police procedures and criminal behavior to perform statistical and analytical research through the use of advanced computer applications, public safety system data, and secure databases to plan, collect, assess, collate, analyze, and disseminate information for crime pattern detection, suspect-crime correlation, target-suspect profiles and crime forecasting. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: climbing, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
