Typical activities include weekly instruction and supervision of the section(s)/course(s) to which they are assigned, maintaining a safe learning environment (including observing adhering to safety guidelines, e.g. in laboratory activities), reading and evaluating student papers, homework, and other assignments, prompt recording and posting of student grades, and maintaining scheduled office hours outside of scheduled teaching times. For teaching laboratory or discussion sections for larger courses, the candidate should maintain regular communication with course coordinators, attend course team meetings, return graded work promptly, record grades regularly as appropriate for the course (e.g. in Canvas), and return final section grades by the last day of final exams.
