The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for leading and managing all on-site electrical construction activities for utility-scale solar projects, including DC, AC, and medium-voltage (MV) systems. Supervise and direct electrical subcontractors and field crews during installation of solar modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and MV collection systems.

<h2>Position Summary</h2>The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for leading and managing all on-site electrical construction activities for utility-scale solar projects, including DC, AC, and medium-voltage (MV) systems. This role ensures safe, high-quality, and timely execution of electrical scope in compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards. The Electrical Superintendent will coordinate subcontractors, oversee field crews, and serve as a key liaison between field operations and project management.<h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><h3>Field Leadership & Execution</h3><ul><li>Supervise and direct electrical subcontractors and field crews during installation of solar modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and MV collection systems.</li><li>Ensure installation meets project drawings, specifications, NEC, NESC, and local codes.</li><li>Oversee trenching, cable pulling, terminations, grounding, testing, and commissioning activities.</li><li>Maintain daily presence on-site to verify progress, safety, and quality.</li></ul><h3>Safety & Compliance</h3><ul><li>Enforce all company and site-specific safety policies in alignment with OSHA and NFPA 70E standards.</li><li>Conduct job hazard analyses, daily toolbox talks, and safety inspections.</li><li>Stop unsafe work and ensure corrective actions are taken immediately.</li></ul><h3>Quality Assurance</h3><ul><li>Perform inspections of electrical work for compliance with drawings, codes, and best practices.</li><li>Ensure all electrical testing (insulation resistance, megger, hi-pot, continuity, etc.) is documented and approved.</li><li>Track and close out punch-list items in a timely manner.</li></ul><h3>Scheduling & Coordination</h3><ul><li>Work with Project Manager and Construction Manager to develop and maintain project schedules.</li><li>Coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials to achieve milestones.</li><li>Communicate effectively with civil and mechanical superintendents to align construction sequences.</li></ul><h3>Reporting & Documentation</h3><ul><li>Track daily production, crew hours, equipment usage, and material deliveries.</li><li>Maintain accurate redlines and as-built documentation for electrical systems.</li><li>Prepare daily/weekly reports on progress, safety, and issues.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Education & Experience<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or electrical trade school preferred.</li><li>Minimum 7+ years electrical construction experience, with at least 3+ years in a supervisory role on utility-scale solar or renewable energy projects.</li><li>Experience with MV power systems (15kV–35kV), high-voltage substation tie-ins, and large-scale PV installations.</li></ul></li><li>Technical Skills<ul><li>Deep knowledge of NEC, NESC, NFPA 70E, and industry electrical standards.</li><li>Proficient in interpreting one-line diagrams, schematics, electrical plans, and specifications.</li><li>Familiarity with construction management software (Procore, MS Project, or equivalent).</li></ul></li><li>Soft Skills<ul><li>Strong leadership and team management capabilities.</li><li>Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to work in fast-paced environments and adapt to evolving project needs.</li></ul></li></ul>

Perform computations and collect engineering data. Perform feasibility studies; prepare reports, summaries and analyses; and handle other specific tasks as required.[Job Description]ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Assist with major engineering projects, independently handle less complex portions of projects or complete tasks as assigned. Perform various duties, including: engineering studies and investigations; machine, equipment and tool design; methods development for machining, processing and assembling; materials handling design; equipment acquisition; and plant layout. Work closely with Quality Control, production supervision, vendors, Maintenance and others in improving manufacturing methods and reducing costs.- Continuously seek out areas for cost reduction. Perform feasibility studies involving cost analyses and consideration of alternatives to determine economic advantage of proposed improvements. Select equipment, machines or tooling; perform inspections at the vendor’s plant whenever possible; and submit recommendations to the Engineering Manager. Direct and/or coordinate capital expenditure projects and work closely with supervisor and various members of management as required.- Work closely with Design Engineering in planning production methods for new and revised products. Make recommendations regarding product design from the standpoint of manufacturing engineering. Participate in the implementation of new methods, equipment, machines and tooling. As necessary, assist supervisors and operators during the course of production as well as with conducting trial runs. In the course of specific projects, exercise partial supervision over machinists and maintenance personnel.- Prepare operating and process specifications, and other documentation. Maintain various records.- Work with vendors in investigating improved methods and equipment. Develop advanced methods of production. Simplify or eliminate manual operations, utilizing automation approaches when feasible. Investigate difficulties in production and devise solutions to problems. Recommend improvements in preventive maintenance, safety and housekeeping.- Use initiative, ingenuity and sound engineering techniques and approaches while performing technical investigations, using engineering and technical literature. Seek and accept functional guidance and assistance from others on matters within their areas of competence.- Through the course of all projects evaluate, promote, recommend, and work toward a safe and accident-free environment. Ensure that operating procedures for all new and existing equipment have been documented for use by others.- Exercise responsibility for professional development through continuing study, attending technical society meetings and similar means.
