Respond to emergency medical incidents if needed, operate emergency medical equipment, analyze patient needs and administer basic life support, apply techniques for the control of airway, breathing, circulation, spinal immobilization, shock, patient packaging, and ambulance transport including inter-facility transfers. Position requires running, walking, crouching, or crawling during emergency operations, climbing stairs; performing lifesaving and rescue procedures, moving equipment and injured/deceased persons, walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time, operating assigned equipment and vehicles.
