<p><strong>Position Overview:</strong></p><p>The On-Site Support Environmental Scientist/Engineer shall be competent, experienced, and knowledgeable in technical and program support and shall be the primary USAEC Environmental Support Manager (ESM) point of contact for technical coordination of project requirements at Fort Knox.</p><p>The On-Site Support employee will provide environmental program technical support to meet the requirements of the Army’s Environmental Program in order to implement the Compliance Cleanup Program, the Installation Restoration/Remediation Program, the Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP), and the Underground Storage Tank (UST)/ Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) Program.  Technical support will be consistent with CERCLA and RCRA, as well as all local, state, and federal regulations regarding such systems.</p><p>The On-Site Support employee will provide comprehensive environmental restoration technical support, assist the installation with the development and implementation of draft environmental guidance for Government approval, address compliance with appropriate laws, regulations and guidance. The On-Site Support employee will assist the Government with coordinating efforts with representatives of federal, state and local regulatory agencies, and program executing agencies.  Additionally, they will provide technical assistance and recommendations to Fort Knox in support of permit compliance, renewals and modifications, installation action plan updates, Investigation Derived Waste management, to include field activities.
