Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform field and on-site laboratory tests on soil, geosynthetics, and other materials primarily associated with landfill and/or waste containment system construction; Perform in-place moisture-density results to verify project compaction requirements are met; Oversee drilling, logging of borings, and instrumentation installation; Monitor activities on job sites to assure compliance with relevant contract documents (e.g., technical specifications, construction drawings, sampling plans, CQA plans etc.); Provide CQA monitoring on several types of construction and/or environmental activities on enviro-civil construction sites; Prepare daily and weekly field reports, construction schedules & progress reports; Assure project documentation is correct and consistent with company policy & procedures; Interact with project personnel (contractors, project managers, engineers & clients) and assist in cultivating an integrated team approach through open lines of communications and participation in work progress meetings; Assist in the preparation of the final reports, work plans, health and safety documents, and the assembly of report appendices; Observe and abide by the policies and procedures outlined in the site-specific project health and safety plans and the company’s Environmental Health and Safety Management policies and procedures; and. The position will assist our engineers and geologists with the collection and testing of diverse materials, including but not limited to soil, sediment, water, and air for environmental evaluations; compile construction quality assurance (CQA) monitoring data related to landfill and environmental remediation construction projects; provide neat, accurate, and comprehensive documentation of all field-related activities to senior-level project personnel; and provide additional field and office support to geologists and engineers serving a diverse private and public sector client base.
