Conducts food service inspections, including reviewing and approving construction and remodeling plans; 2. Teaches food handlers classes and speaks at other educational events; 3. Investigates food establishment complaints, including foodborne illness complaints and initiates appropriate corrective actions; 4. Reviews plans and inspects both new and existing OSSFs as assigned to ensure compliance with state and local ordinances, rules, and regulations; 5. Under the direct supervision of the Division Manager, duties may include some or all of the following: Inspects food service establishments, on-site sewage facilities (OSSF), daycare and foster homes, and pools; participates in vector surveillance, instruction of the public in food safety rules and practices including conducting food handler classes and other public outreach events; investigates public nuisance complaints and foodborne illness complaints.
