degree with active membership in at least one U.S. state bar 10+ years of relevant legal experience, including substantial experience advising on environmental and/or occupational health and safety law Prior in-house experience at a technology, manufacturing, infrastructure or similarly complex global enterprise (or equivalent experience at a major law firm with a focus on EHS regulatory counsel) Deep knowledge of federal, state and local environmental and occupational safety laws and regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, RCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act) and their international analogs Experience in supporting and documenting risk assessments, audits, root cause analyses and standing up controls Significant experience managing regulatory enforcement defense Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, or advising on EHS management systems and compliance programs at enterprise scale Proven ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, practical guidance for non-legal stakeholders Track record of building trusted partnerships across diverse cross-functional teams Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies Experience managing outside counsel relationships and EHS-related litigation or enforcement matters Experience with environmental permitting (air, stormwater, groundwater), laboratory/research safety (chemical, radiation, process hazard safety) and EHS oversight Familiarity with international EHS regulatory frameworks (EU, APAC, LATAM) Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews) Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements) Knowledge of corporate sustainability reporting obligations and emerging ESG regulatory requirements Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews) Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements) Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies Experience advising on EHS aspects of real estate transactions, construction projects, or infrastructure deployments (e.g., fiber, data centers)Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses. This role will help mature Environmental Health & Safety Management Systems embedded in various business units, advise on novel legal risks, manage environmental risks across a broad range of transactions, and defend against regulatory enforcement.
