Key Duties Ability to operate various mobile cranes safely Thorough understanding of crane operation characteristics, controls, emergency skills, response to fire, power line contact, tipping malfunction characteristics Demonstrate basic abilities in reading, writing, arithmetic skills, and load chart usage Load chart test on various crane configurations Proficiency in handling pre-start inspections, post-start inspections, maneuvering skills, shut down, and securing procedures Understanding of ANSI B 30.5, OSHA, federal, state, and local requirements (e.g., crane set up, securing the load, controlling the load, and hand signals, etc.) Set up and operate the computer in correct configuration and work within limitations Effectively coordinate daily activities with supervisors. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project Employee regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on construction sites, such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel, and ready mixed concrete.
