In addition, our faculty actively participate in interdisciplinary centers such as the Northwestern Institute on Complex Systems, the Center for Synthetic Biology, the Northwestern University Interdepartmental Neuroscience Program, the Paula M Trienens Institute for Sustainability and Energy, the Northwestern-Argonne Institute for Scientific and Engineering Excellence, and the Center for Computation and Theory of Soft Materials. The research of our current faculty spans multiple departments in the McCormick School of Engineering, the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, and the Feinberg School of Medicine in areas including scientific computing, biological systems, fluid dynamics, complex systems, materials science, energy systems, ML/AI for science, and social systems.
