Performs general maintenance and repair of city facilities to ensure upkeep and safety, including general carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, heating/air conditioning, and other mechanical repair work; Responds to service calls, completes work order requests, and related reports, including tracking materials used; Inspects facilities to identify building maintenance needs and communicates needed repairs to the Maintenance Supervisor; Operates and maintains a variety of mechanical tools and equipment such as power saws, sanders, drills, air compressors, paint sprayers, and various other tools required for maintenance work while utilizing necessary PPE to complete the task; Participates in minor repairs to equipment, vehicles, tools, and facilities; Assembles, disassembles, and moves furniture and other objects; Assists with set ups and tear downs of materials and equipment needed for special events; Maintains records and prepares reports of work performed and materials used; In the event of a departmental or City-wide emergency (i.e., flooding, winter storm, etc.), may be required to respond afterhours, including holidays and weekends, to support recovery and restoration efforts, and. The employee is required to engage in moderate to strenuous physical activity, work with tools and equipment, drive vehicles or equipment, perform repetitive motions, perform work involving the entire body, stand, and walk and balance on all types of surfaces.
