Position Summary The Sprinkler Inspection Technician at Marmic Fire and Safety specializes in the installation, inspection, and repair of fire sprinkler systems, including hose systems, fire mains, underground systems, and closed valves. This role involves conducting detailed inspections and tests to ensure the functionality and compliance of both new and existing sprinkler systems. Technicians are responsible for identifying and repairing defective or worn components, performing inspections according to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, and making necessary modifications to enhance system performance. You will work on a variety of sites, including residential, commercial, and industrial properties, ensuring that all sprinkler systems operate effectively to provide reliable fire protection. Core Responsibilities Inspection and Testing: Perform comprehensive inspections and testing of fire sprinkler systems to ensure they comply with local, state, and national fire codes and regulations. Identify and document any system deficiencies, malfunctions, or areas requiring improvement. System Maintenance and Repair: Conduct routine maintenance on sprinkler systems, including adjustments and minor repairs, to ensure optimal performance. Recommend and coordinate major repairs or system upgrades as needed. Pipe Installation and Assembly: Select appropriate pipe sizes and materials, measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading, and assemble and secure pipes, tubes, and fittings. Turn off existing systems to secure new pipes, weld and solder pipes to create joints, and attach pipes to fixtures. Layout and Modifications: Create layout drawings of full-scale piping systems, cut and bore holes in pipes according to blueprints and specifications. Clean and modify existing sprinkler systems to ensure they meet current standards and function efficiently. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed and accurate records of inspection results, maintenance activities, and repairs. Prepare and deliver clear, comprehensive reports to clients, outlining findings, recommendations, and corrective actions. Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to explain inspection results, address concerns, and provide professional advice on system improvements. Foster positive relationships with clients through excellent customer service and responsive problem-solving. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all inspection and maintenance activities adhere to established safety standards and industry best practices. Follow company policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve inspection processes and service delivery. Collaborate with team members to implement best practices and enhance overall efficiency. Troubleshooting and Knowledge: Troubleshoot and resolve issues with sprinkler systems effectively. Apply practical engineering knowledge and stay informed about NFPA codes, standards, and plumbing codes to ensure compliance and high-quality service. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a focus on accuracy and timeliness. Proficiency in using hand tools, welding, and soldering equipment. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must pass pre-employment background checks and drug screenings, with ongoing compliance throughout employment. Preferred Qualifications ITM Sprinkler NICET Level 1 strongly preferred VA Backflow License strongly preferred 4 or more years of experience in sprinkler inspection or related fields. Advanced understanding of fire sprinkler systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair. Experience managing inspection projects, including scheduling and coordination. In-depth knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, as well as plumbing codes and standards. Additional safety certifications or training, such as OSHA certifications or equivalent. Position Summary:
The Estimator at Marmic Fire and Safety will be responsible for accurately assessing the costs associated with fire protection and safety projects. This role involves preparing detailed cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure that bids are competitive and align with project specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost estimation, project management, and the fire protection industry, with excellent analytical and communication skills.

Core Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation and Analysis:<ul><li>Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for fire protection and safety projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.</li><li>Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to determine project scope and requirements.</li><li>Conduct site visits and assess project conditions to identify potential cost factors and risks.</li></ul>Bid Preparation and Submission:<ul><li>Prepare and submit comprehensive bids and proposals, ensuring they meet client specifications and project requirements.</li><li>Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and refine estimates.</li><li>Review and adjust estimates based on feedback and changes to project scope or specifications.</li></ul>Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination:<ul><li>Obtain and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and quality.Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable rates and maintain cost control.</li><li>Integrate subcontractor and vendor costs into overall project estimates.Cost Control and Budget Management:</li><li>Monitor and track project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgets and identify potential variances.</li><li>Provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities to optimize project budgets.</li><li>Prepare detailed cost reports and analysis for review by project managers and senior leadership.</li></ul>Documentation and Reporting:<ul><li>Maintain accurate and organized records of estimates, bids, and related documentation.Prepare and present cost analysis reports, including comparisons of estimated versus actual costs.Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and contractual requirements in all estimation activities.</li></ul>Continuous Improvement and Best Practices:<ul><li>Stay current with industry trends, market conditions, and changes in fire protection technology and regulations.</li><li>Implement and promote best practices in cost estimation and project management.</li><li>Provide feedback and suggestions for improving estimating processes and tools.</li></ul> The above information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this role. Minimum Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
