This position will require developing and implementing new methods of teaching to reflect changes in the field, providing curriculum material, constructing syllabi, leading classroom instruction, writing and administering exams, mentoring and evaluating students and graduate teaching assistants that oversee laboratory sections, creating interest and understanding among students, and a small service appointment that can include serving on various faculty- and student-oriented committees, providing service on campus and in related professional organizations, and/or participating in faculty governance in the department and on campus. Additional Information: The Department: The Department of Biological Sciences includes 34 tenured or tenure-track faculty and 12 non-tenure track members conducting research and teaching in the areas of evolutionary biology, ecology, genetics, genomics, development, cell biology, and microbiology.
