As a Fricker’s hostess/greeter, you are the first and last person the guests will see during their visit.  We are counting on you to make sure that first impression is excellent. The position is active from Wednesday, August 12, 2026 to Wednesday, August 19, 2026.Principal Responsibilities<ul><li>Attend the ISG training day on Wednesday, August 12, 2026</li><li>Participate in airport pickups and welcome students upon arrival</li><li>Assist international students in an effective and efficient manner</li><li>Answer students questions and needs in a timely manner</li><li>Bring students' needs to the attention of the International Services Coordinator and follow through on instructions</li><li>Follow all International Services policies and guidelines during international student orientation</li><li>Come to work as scheduled and remain flexible depending on the day's needs (no more than 40 hours per week for each Sunday to Saturday work week)</li><li>Participate fully in orientation sessions and social activities</li><li>Give your full attention to the international students during work hours, getting to know them and guiding them through orientation</li><li>Act as a guide and resource on any excursions during orientation</li><li>Assist with filling out important forms and documents</li><li>Create and/or present orientation sessions, such as "Life as an ONU Student"</li><li>Help students get from place to place and ensure they are on time to all sessions</li><li>As needed, act as a driver for off-campus excursions</li><li>Participate in any other orientation activities, as assigned</li></ul>Required Skills:<ul><li>Possesses high energy and the stamina to work long hours for days in a row</li><li>Possesses high people skills and the stamina to be with many different kinds of people in groups for days in a row</li><li>High capacity for empathy, compassion, and care</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with students for whom English is a second language and to communicate with students who speak English with a non-American accent</li><li>Ability to handle private and confidential material and information</li><li>Can multitask and shift quickly from one task to another</li><li>Resourceful and can make independent decisions based on ONU guidelines and common sense</li><li>Previous multicultural and/or international experience is an asset</li><li>The ability to lift heavy objects is an asset</li><li>Holds a driver's license and is willing to become an ONU approved driver.
