p>Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Educational and Assessment Services, the Director of Special Education, and a Registered School Nurse (RN), the LVN performs specialized health services for students in regular and special education programs, within limits of licensure and school nurse directions; administers medications and performs other specialized physical health care procedures in accordance with physician's orders; performs medical assessments of students as a result of illness, injury, seizure, or other medical problems occurring at school; communicates with parents, school site and District personnel regarding health related matters; and performs related duties as required. While performing the duties of a Licensed Vocational Nurse, an employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit; speak and listen, both in person and by telephone and email; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms from the waist to a level at or above the shoulders; bend, stoop, push, pull, grasp, squat, kneel, twist, crawl, climb, and balance to access materials and/or equipment; smell; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and lift up to 100 pounds with assistance from ground, waist and chest level; and travel over uneven terrain that may include gravel, dirt, or stairs.
