Our high school interns work under the close direction of an experienced supervisor/manager in our quarries to test aggregate and asphalt building materials to ensure they meet our high-quality standards.  </p><p> </p><p><strong>Wage:</strong> $20/hr</p><p><strong>Internship Duration: </strong>Summer 2026 (Approximately June 26th - September 1st)</p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Eugene, Oregon</p><p> </p><p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p><ul><li style="font-family:'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;font-size:12pt">Learn Quality Control methods and reporting procedures.</li><li style="font-family:'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;font-size:12pt">Follow quality control plans or guidelines as assigned.</li><li style="font-family:'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;font-size:12pt">Learn paving process and density control.</li><li style="font-family:'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;font-size:12pt">Work to understand aggregate processing and quality conformance.</li><li style="font-family:'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;font-size:12pt">Assist with testing materials in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.</li><li style="font-family:'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;font-size:12pt">Identify and become familiar with various mix specifications requirements.</li><li style="font-family:'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;font-size:12pt">Communicate with other technicians regarding mix specifications and test results.</li><li style="font-family:'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;font-size:12pt">Report and communicate test results ethically, adhering to the company's Ethics Policy.</li><li style="font-family:'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;font-size:12pt">Participate in and promote and inclusive work environment.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.</p><p><br/><u>Minimum Qualifications: </u></p><ul><li style="font-family:'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;font-size:12pt">Must be available to work approximately 40 hours per week.</li><li style="font-family:'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;font-size:12pt">Detail Oriented.</li><li style="font-family:'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;font-size:12pt">Ability to perform intermediate mathematical skills, including basic algebra.</li><li style="font-family:'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;font-size:12pt">Must have a current and valid driver’s license.</li><li style="font-family:'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;font-size:12pt">Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.</li><li style="font-family:'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;font-size:12pt">Must pass post offer pre-employment controlled substance testing & physical exam.</li><li style="font-family:'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;font-size:12pt">Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.</li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong>Work Environment:</strong></p><p>The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p><ul><li style="font-family:'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;font-size:12pt">Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
