Referral concerns include diagnostic clarification (e.g., disordered eating, somatic symptom and related disorders), safety evaluations, impact of mental health symptoms on adjustment/coping with chronic illness and hospitalization, medical adherence, quality of life, behavior problems, pain management, mental status, and delirium. This includes diagnostic, assessment, treatment, and discharge planning for youth with a variety of mental health concerns including (but not limited to): depression, anxiety, emotional distress and difficulty regulating emotions, self-harm, suicidality, post-traumatic stress, difficulty communicating with others, and other behavioral challenges.
