p>Duties/Responsibilities: Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires Operates graders for leveling and operates tractors to load materials such as dirt and rocks Operates backhoe and front-end loaders as required Operates forklifts and dump trucks to transport trash and materials Operates various equipment for general site preparation, landscaping, snow removal, and related assignments Operates 40-ton trash trucks including hydraulic equipment such as tailgates, hoppers, and packers as required Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices Inspect large equipment before and after use to ensure they are working properly Load and unload cargo and move them to the appropriate storage area Follow all safety procedures while operating equipment Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs when necessary.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Proficient in written and oral communication skills according to skill requirements • Possess strong computer skills, able to read, write, and comprehend written instructional documents • Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume • Ability to apply concepts of introductory algebra and geometry • Experience in welding • Mechanical Knowledge.
