The Watson Library Operations Manager position oversees circulation services and frontline public services, including direct supervision of Watson Access Services staff (Night & Weekend Supervisor, Library Assistant, Circulation Business Specialist, Stacks Maintenance Supervisor) and student employees. The Operations Manager coordinates facilities and repair activities, oversees stacks management, public technology implementation and supplies, conference room setup and frontline tech support, and provides day-to-day coordination with other KU Libraries employees as their projects intersect with public services in the building.

This position fosters and maintains quality customer service and reliable staffing and operations in Watson Library.   The Operations Manager coordinates facilities and repair activities, oversees stacks management, public technology implementation and supplies, conference room setup and frontline tech support, and provides day-to-day coordination with other KU Libraries employees as their projects intersect with public services in the building. This dynamic, user-focused position reports to the Director of Public Operations and collaborates with many people and units to support programs and space needs along with staff across the KU Libraries and other University departments.

We are seeking a versatile and self-motivated Paralegal to join our close-knit legal team. Key Responsibilities:</h1><ul><li>Conduct comprehensive legal research using online databases and law libraries to support case preparation and consumer protection matters</li><li>Analyze statutes, regulations, and case law related to consumer rights and unfair business practices</li><li>Prepare detailed research memoranda and case summaries for attorney review</li><li>Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and consumer protection complaints under attorney supervision</li><li>Prepare routine legal correspondence, memoranda, and client communications</li><li>Maintain and organize case files, legal documents, and correspondence in both physical and electronic formats</li><li>Review and summarize complex discovery materials, contracts, and consumer agreements</li><li>Ensure all court filings meet proper formatting requirements and deadlines</li><li>Interview clients and witnesses to gather case information and maintain detailed records of all communications</li><li>Coordinate case timelines and track critical deadlines across multiple consumer protection cases</li><li>Schedule depositions, court hearings, client meetings, and coordinate calendar management for multiple attorneys</li><li>Assist with trial preparation including exhibit preparation, witness coordination, and trial binders</li><li>Prepare court filings, ensure compliance with court rules, and coordinate service of process</li><li>Manage client billing processes, track billable hours, and prepare accurate invoices</li><li>Assist with document production, including organizing, indexing, and summarizing discovery materials</li><li>Support general office administration and maintain professional client relationships</li><li>Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information and privileged communications</li></ul> Required Qualifications:<ul><li>Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm environment</li><li>Proficiency in legal research databases such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar platforms</li><li>Experience with FileVine or other case management software systems</li><li>Familiarity with e-discovery platforms and litigation support software</li><li>Strong typing skills and document formatting abilities</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong proofreading abilities</li><li>Knowledge of federal and state court rules, filing procedures, and legal terminology</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Political Science, or related field</li><li>Experience with consumer protection law, debt collection defense, or class action litigation</li><li>Familiarity with federal consumer protection statutes (FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, etc.)</li><li>Experience with e-discovery platforms and litigation support software</li><li>Notary public certification</li></ul>Our Perks and Benefits:<ul><li>Generously subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance</li><li>Company matching 401K </li><li>Casual Office Attire</li><li>Free parking</li><li>Pet-friendly and flexible working office environment</li><li>Progressive AI tools available</li><li>Responsible Paid Time Off (AKA: Take the time you need!)</li></ul><h1>If you’re ready to join a team that fights for the underdog and believes in a healthy dose of fun, we want to hear from you!
