Provides assistance to the cardiologist or cardiac surgeon in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization and angiography procedures, measuring cardiovascular parameters such as cardiac output, blood flow velocity, cardiovascular dynamics, cardiac electrophysiology parameters, intracardiac shunt detection, valve flow/valve area determinations, intracardiac pressure measurements, oximetry determination, cineangiocardiography, and the measurement and calculation of cardiac function indices. Candidates must have completed one of the following programs: A Cardiovascular Technology program accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting body, A formalized on-the-job cardiac catheterization training program consisting of at least 1,040 combined hours (6 months) of classroom and practical laboratory work, Completion of an accredited education program such as cardiovascular technology, surgical technology, emergency medical technology, etc.
