Unit-specific skills may include wound care, chest tube management, NGT, IV starts, trach care, ostomy/colostomy care, foley care, central line care, and medication administration. Patient populations vary by unit and include general surgery, vascular, neuro (CVA, TBI, seizure), oncology, orthopedic, and general medsurg diagnoses (COPD, CHF, sepsis, renal failure, etc).
