Essential Job Functions: Responsible for the inspection, cleaning, servicing, repair and proper mechanical operation of a wide range of equipment, controls and physical facilities used in a wastewater treatment operation, including major and minor repair work to pumps, motors, electrical controls, and other mechanical equipment, as well as buildings and fixtures; utilizes a wide range of equipment including small hand and power tools, welding machines, acetylene/oxygen cutting machines, drill presses, air compressors, sandblasters, paint sprayers, etc. Skills/Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to facilitate the accurate exchange of information and instruction with the general foreman and co-workers; ability to work from sketches, blueprints, maintenance manuals, equipment specifications and verbal instructions to trouble shoot problems and effect the necessary repairs in an efficient and safe manner; highly skilled in the proper use of hand tools and small power tools and moderate skills in the proper use of other equipment such as air compressors, welding and cutting equipment, drill presses, sandblasters, etc.
