Required Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Skills in planning, organizing, and directing crews • Operation of trucks, tractors, mowers, chainsaws, forklift, bobcat, boom truck, and other equipment used in park maintenance • Skills in reading and understanding construction blueprints • Knowledge of general park maintenance procedures • Knowledge of National Electrical and Local Electrical Codes • Knowledge of department rules and regulations • Ability to work at varying heights, including climbing poles at heights ranging as high as ninety feet • Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions • Ability to communicate effectively with subordinates and the general public • Valid Class A Commercial Drivers license (CDL) with Air endorsement preferred. Material and Equipment Directly Used • Operates a variety of equipment used in routine maintenance, including mowers, trucks, tractors, chainsaws, forklift, bobcat, boom truck, and other equipment used in the maintenance of parks.
