The Medical Imaging Assistant (MIA) takes assignments, prioritizes and coordinates patient flow between departments, greets patients, escorts ambulatory patients, and transports patients between patient floors and Medical Imaging via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed, depending on patient condition or need of the department. The Medical Imaging Assistant assists the modality technologist staff in their area of assignment, under the direct supervision of modality imaging technologists and within the Medical Imaging Assistant scope of practice.
