li>Assists practitioner with medical and surgical procedures in accordance with established protocols such as: Electrocardiogram (ECG), venipuncture, immunizations, setting up procedure trays, specimen collection and/or Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) waived testing as directed by Provider. The Medical Assistant - Float is a member of the health care team primarily responsible for providing support to physicians, nurses, and other licensed medical staff by facilitating efficient patient flow, assisting with various patient care activities, and performing related administrative functions.

American Association Medical Assistants (CMA) [Required] OR Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) [Required] OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) [Required] OR National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) [Required] OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) [Required] OR Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) [Required]. Provides whole care to patients during office visits, including intake, test results, screenings, labs, medication administration, and closure of care gaps.
Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration). The Medical Assistant is essential during the patient visit, accompanying the dermatologist in the room and promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists.
Certified or registered as a CMA or RMA by one of the following National Organizations: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification issued by the National Health Career Association (NHA), RMA certification issued by the American Medical Technologists (AMT), Medical Assistant (NCMA) certification issued by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC), or American Medical Certification Association (AMCA). Recognized or certified as a CMA or RMA by one of the following National Organizations: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Health Career Association (NHA), National Healthcare Worker's Association (NHCWA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Registry of Medical Assistants (NRMA).
