A Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, implementing components of a patient's treatment plan by assisting with exercises, applying modalities like heat or cold packs, providing patient education, and monitoring progress to help individuals regain mobility and function following injury or illness, all while adhering to the established treatment plan and reporting findings to the supervising physical therapist; essentially, they actively participate in patient care by carrying out specific therapeutic interventions as directed by the physical therapist. • Provides ongoing communication with the supervising Physical Therapist regarding patient's progress and/or lack thereof and discusses and implements changes in the patient's treatment plan only as directed by the Physical Therapist.
