TITLE: Senior Electrical Engineer (RF & Modeling)LOCATION: Point Mugu AFB, CA, USCLEARANCE REQUIRED: Active DoD Secret ClearanceEMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, On-siteTRAVEL: Up to 30% POSITION SUMMARYModern Government Solutions LLC (MGS) is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (RF & Modeling) to support Blue Water Instrumentation (BWI) efforts at the Point Mugu Sea Range. This role is responsible for the design, analysis, integration, and evaluation of RF and electrical systems supporting maritime instrumentation, telemetry, and command-and-control experimentation. The Senior Electrical Engineer operates at the intersection of RF system design, modeling and simulation, and real-world test execution, translating complex requirements into fielded capabilities. This position requires a technically deep engineer capable of delivering operational solutions through rapid R&D, experimentation, and integration in dynamic environments. RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):<ul><li>Lead the design and development of RF and electrical systems supporting instrumentation and telemetry capabilities. </li><li>Develop and apply modeling and simulation tools to analyze system performance, propagation, and operational behavior. </li><li>Design and integrate RF communication systems, telemetry links, antennas, and signal processing components. </li><li>Perform RF analysis, including link budgets, spectrum utilization, interference mitigation, and EMC considerations. </li><li>Support system architecture development through trade studies, requirements analysis, and performance optimization. </li><li>Integrate RF and electrical systems with mechanical, software, and network components within multi-disciplinary prototypes. </li><li>Support test planning, execution, and post-test analysis, including data collection and performance validation. </li><li>Troubleshoot RF, electrical, and system-level issues in both laboratory and field environments. </li><li>Provide technical oversight for prototype development, integration, and installation activities. </li><li>Develop and review technical documentation, including design packages, test plans, reports, and briefings. </li><li>Collaborate with government stakeholders, range personnel, and cross-functional teams to align solutions with mission needs. </li><li>Ensure compliance with safety, spectrum management, and regulatory requirements. </li><li>Mentor junior engineers and technicians supporting RF and electrical integration efforts. </li><li>Work in a combination of office, laboratory, and outdoor maritime environments. </li><li>Support hands-on integration and evaluation during test events and operational activities. </li><li>Support extended hours or mission requirements during test events and field operations.</li></ul> REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>Must possess an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred). </li><li>10+ years of experience in RF systems, electrical engineering, or related technical field. </li><li>Strong background in RF system design, analysis, and integration. </li><li>Experience with modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, CST, HFSS). </li><li>Understanding of wireless communications, telemetry systems, and signal propagation. </li><li>Experience performing link budget analysis and system performance modeling. </li><li>Ability to work in laboratory and field environments, including test ranges and maritime conditions.</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.</li></ul> PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>Experience supporting DoD test ranges, RDT&E programs, or instrumentation systems. </li><li>Background in maritime RF environments or Over-the-Horizon communications. </li><li>Experience with antenna design, RF front-end systems, and spectrum management. </li><li>Familiarity with electronic warfare or contested spectrum environments. </li><li>Experience integrating RF systems with network architectures and C2 systems. </li><li>Experience supporting test and evaluation events and field experimentation. </li><li>Knowledge of software-defined radios and advanced communication systems. </li><li>Prior military or defense contractor experience.</li></ul> *Applicants selected will be United States citizens and may be subject to a government security investigation for access to classified information.* ABOUT USAt MGS, we believe a people-first culture corresponds to organizational success through a commitment to excellence, integrity, inclusion, and an attitude that welcomes challenges meets demands, sustains growth, and drives innovation.
