<h2>Job Description</h2>The Vehicle Operator II is responsible for operating light and heavy vehicles to accomplish and ensure efficient County road construction and maintenance.Essential Functions:<ul><li>Operates dump truck to load and haul needed materials to assigned job site.</li><li>Transports debris from different job sites to landfill.</li><li>Assists coworkers with hauling as needed.</li><li>Submits daily production reports.</li><li>Maintains roadways (cutting overhanging limbs) for assigned area.</li><li>Performs routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of department vehicles and equipment.</li><li>Completes vehicle and equipment maintenance reports, indicating when service was performed and needed repairs.</li><li>Operates a variety of equipment such as backhoe, front end loader, excavator, trucks, etc.</li></ul>Non-Essential Functions:<ul><li>Transports equipment to job sites as needed.</li><li>Assists with other projects as needed.</li><li>Performs all other related duties as required.</li></ul>Qualifications: Education and Work Experience<ul><li>Requires a high school education with one to two years of experience in heavy equipment operation or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.</li><li>Must have valid S.C. driver’s license.</li><li>Must have a valid S.C. Commercial Driver’s License, Class A (preferred), or Class B.</li></ul>CDL REQUIRED Physical Requirements:The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
