The Nurse Practitioner (NP) performs comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, orders, conducts, supervises, interprets diagnostic and laboratory test, and prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease. The roles of the NP includes direct patient/family care, consultation, research, patient/families/ groups/ and communities advocacy, performance improvement, and leadership & professional development.
