Such responsibilities include, but not limited to: Maintain appropriate general standing orders to be reviewed annually and approved by a Physician Provide athletic training services for home athletic contests Provide coverage/training room hours for practices and athlete rehabilitation Be present at all home and away varsity football games Be on the school campus for all home sporting events - including but limited to: all wrestling, football, ice hockey, softball, flag football, baseball, volleyball, tennis, basketball, track, lacrosse and soccer games (unless an away contest requires trainer's presence) Act as a liaison between family physicians and specialists, NVTHS, athletes and parents/guardians Maintain accurate records of injuries (injury reports), treatments, and provide insurance claim forms for sports injuries treated by a physician Implement Massachusetts Concussion Policy Encourage and educate athletes regarding health and wellness. Implement Return-to-Play Guidelines and Follow Ups Rehabilitation, Injury Management, Prevention and Care Assure guidelines and policies for heat, heart and head injuries are followed Work with DESE and local DPH departments (Westford, Littleton, Chelmsford, Ayer, Shirley, Groton, Pepperell and Townsend) as needed Advise families on making appointments for Orthopedics, physical therapists and other medical appointments Carry out physician's orders regarding treatment of injuries Review physician's clearance before allowing a student to return to activity Monitor Athletic Training room budget and supplies Monitor, update and collect physicals for athletes Manage and update FamilyID throughout the year Participate in MIAA/NVTHS Wellness program and/or committee Perform other duties as assigned by Athletic Director if/when needed.
