Performs specialized procedures, including suturing/stapling of major lacerations, wound debridement, blood draws, designated IV starts, central venous line placement, arterial line placement, venous cut downs, foley catheter insertion +/- bladder irrigation, as well as other specific procedures in the Emergency Department and on the inpatient units, with the approved delineation of privileges. Registration Nurse Practitioner License required., and Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required., and Certificate 2 Advanced Cardiac Life Support required., or a Physician Assistant licensed by the MA Board of Physician Assistants which requires candidates to have passed the National Commission on Certification of PA examination.
