Initiate and lead research projects aligned to Nestlé Purina's strategic areas related to pet health through nutrition Translate research findings into product claims, technical communications, and commercialization opportunities Function as a project team leader including providing project leadership and completing required documentation in a timely manner Formulate research hypotheses, design experimental plans, and execute scientific studies Conduct all activities in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and all required Company Policies & Procedures Leverage veterinary and consumer insights to drive innovation that promotes health and wellness of dogs and cats Stay current in nutrition literature and intellectual property and propose new research approaches, methodologies, and technologies Publish research in peer-reviewed journals, present at key industry conferences, and participate in Nestlé Purina-sponsored symposia to introduce innovations Maintain collaborations with academic institutions, veterinary specialists, and external scientific experts Requirements PhD in nutrition or related field Other Experience designing, managing, and publishing clinical research in animal nutrition is preferred Diet formulation experience is preferred Technical/functional knowledge in the area of metabolism or gastrointestinal physiology is preferred Willingness to travel up to 10% The approximate pay range for this position is $82,000 to $116,000.
