Key Responsibilities Include: Serves as the OSHA Coordinator which maintains and updates safety manuals, assists PI''s to ensure lab compliance with OSHA regulations, monitors and performs follow up for OSHA inspection reports and ensures any discrepancies are corrected, maintains familiarity with OSHA rules and regulations, manages chemical hood certification schedule, schedules and accompanies yearly lab inspections, responsible for coordinating with health and safety and the PI to clean out labs when PI retires or leaves the university, administer and oversee the health and safety compliance for the department, schedules and ensures lab personnel complete online lab training modules, Serves as the Building Coordinator which completes monthly inspection reports, maintains and disseminates safety information for the department relating to fire drills and building preparedness, Serves as the Records Room Coordinator which maintains and disposing of departmental records, Serves as the Public Relations Coordinator which promotes relations and favorable impressions of the department through the development, design, and assembling of professional communications such as the departmental newsletter, bulletins, brochures, and flyers utilizing desktop publishing tools and software, Serves as the Equipment Contract Coordinator which maintains the equipment database and managing the renewal of all the service contracts, works with vendors to obtain quotes for the renewal of the service contract and re-negotiates agreements to try to reduce costs, surplus of outdated or no longer needed equipment and coordinates the removal of the surplus equipment with central receiving, place work orders for maintenance needs and place purchase orders for all new equipment purchases, completes the yearly inventory report, liaison between department and vendors for all equipment maintenance, service calls, and repairs, Performs other duties as assigned.
