This is a high-impact opportunity for a motivated leader to manage projects from concept through construction while helping shape safer, more efficient transportation systems across the region.<br/><br/></div><div>In this role, you’ll serve as both a technical expert and project leader, guiding multidisciplinary teams, partnering with clients, and mentoring emerging talent—all while delivering high-quality transportation solutions.</div><br/><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><br/><ul><li>Lead and manage multiple transportation design projects, with a focus on highways and roadways, for municipal and state clients</li><li>Oversee all phases of project delivery—from planning and design through construction</li><li>Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure successful outcomes</li><li>Coordinate internal teams and collaborate on staff allocation and workload planning</li><li>Support business development efforts, including proposals, pursuits, and client strategy</li></ul><ul><li>Provide technical expertise in roadway and highway design and construction management<br/>Ensure compliance with client requirements, DOT standards, and regulatory guidelines</li><li>Perform QA/QC reviews to maintain high-quality deliverables</li><li>Identify risks and proactively resolve technical and project challenges</li></ul><ul><li>Lead multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration, innovation, and accountability</li><li>Mentor and develop junior engineers and project managers</li><li>Support recruitment and team growth initiatives in partnership with leadership</li></ul><ul><li>Serve as the primary point of contact for DOT agencies, municipalities, and project stakeholders</li><li>Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and project updates</li><li>Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships to support repeat business and partnerships</li></ul><br/><h3>Skills, Knowledge and Expertise</h3><br/><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred)</li><li>Professional Engineer (PE) license required</li><li>10+ years of experience in transportation engineering</li><li>Roadway/highway design experience required</li><li>Proven experience managing complex infrastructure projects from concept through construction</li><li>Experience working with DOT agencies (Connecticut DOT experience strongly preferred)</li><li>Strong knowledge of transportation design standards, regulations, and best practices</li><li>Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship skills</li></ul><div><br/>This is a <strong>hybrid role</strong>, offering the best of both worlds—collaborate in-office with a high-performing team and enjoy the flexibility of working remotely part of the week.
