Provide comprehensive eye care including medical and routine eye exams from pediatric to geriatric patient populations • Manage and co-manage a variety of cases with attention to existing systemic medical conditions and social determinants of health • Collaborate closely with primary care providers, behavioral health providers, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team • Deliver patient-centered, trauma-informed care that builds trust and supports patient engagement • Help establish and grow a new satellite clinic, including contributing to clinical workflows and care processes • Document care accurately using eClinicalWorks (eCW), our electronic health record system • Participate in ongoing learning related to health equity, social injustice, and the structural factors affecting patient health. • Doctor of Optometry (OD) or medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Ophthalmology • Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice in the District of Columbia • Interested in helping build and grow a new practice • Prior experience in community health or safety-net settings preferred • Openness to learning about social injustice, structural inequities, and their impact on health outcomes • Comfortable managing a dynamic range of medically and socially complex patients • Collaborative and team-oriented, with the ability to work closely with primary care and support staff • Self-motivated with strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills • Compassionate, patient-centered, and mission-aligned • Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) preferred but not required.
