They are responsible for setting-up, operating, and disassembling processing equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). They will operate multiple types of processing equipment, including but not limited to extrusion, injection molding, dryers, cutting, and packaging machinery according to scheduled production needs. In addition, operators maintain their assigned production area, following safety procedures and cleanliness standards. The operator will also troubleshoot equipment issues and complete required food safety checks to ensure first-time right production.Day-to-Day Responsibilities<ul><li>Sets-up, operates and disassembles processing equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) according to production schedule.</li><li>Troubleshoots equipment as needed.</li><li>Monitors product, completing various checks to ensure product is running according to job specifications.</li><li>Reviews and follows production schedule throughout shift.</li><li>Adjusts equipment during product changeovers.</li><li>Checks and documents product according to SOPs to ensure the highest quality standards.</li><li>Cleans work area according to sanitation SOPs. Maintains cleanliness throughout work shift.</li><li>Monitors equipment and uses various tools to make adjustments, small repairs and perform basic maintenance as required.</li><li>Completes re-work as necessary.</li><li>Maintains records and logs within designated production system during entire production process</li><li>Performs and documents in-process quality checks on a periodic basis on representative samples to ensure that product is correctly produced/packaged.</li><li>Cleans, disassembles and reassembles line equipment to prepare machines for inspection and/or deep cleaning.</li><li>Changeover/sets up machine for run by loading product, components, printer material, etc.; adjusting settings; checking the line; and obtaining line clearance to prepare equipment for next run.</li><li>Actively follows safety procedures and policies in all job tasks.</li><li>Follows and holds others accountable for following all company GMPs.</li><li>All other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Workplace Safety<ul><li>Completes safety system documentation and verifies compliance to program standards. Reports deviations to Supervisor.</li><li>Participates in mandatory safety training and adheres to all safety policies/procedures.</li><li>Reports all safety issues, near misses, and injuries.</li></ul>Quality & Food Safety<ul><li>Completes quality & food safety system documentation and verifies compliance to program standards. There are four levels of Production Operators, so as you gain skills you can advance to earn higher pay and take on more responsibility.Production Operator I:<ul><li>Entry-level position requiring limited or no prior experience.</li><li>Responsible for performing basic production tasks under direct supervision.</li><li>Follows standard operating procedures and instructions closely.</li><li>Operates simple machinery or equipment and performs routine assembly tasks.</li><li>Assists with material handling, cleaning work areas, and basic quality control checks.</li><li>Focuses on learning and acquiring the necessary skills for production operations.</li></ul>Production Operator II:<ul><li>Mid-level position requiring some experience and demonstrated proficiency.</li><li>Performs more complex production tasks and operates intermediate-level machinery or equipment.</li><li>Follows established procedures but may have some autonomy and decision-making authority.</li><li>Conducts setup, calibration, and minor troubleshooting of equipment.</li><li>Assists in training and providing guidance to less experienced operators.</li><li>Contributes to process improvement initiatives and may participate in problem-solving activities.</li></ul>Production Operator III:<ul><li>Senior-level position requiring extensive experience and advanced technical skills.</li><li>Responsible for performing complex production tasks and operating advanced machinery or equipment.</li><li>Exhibits a high level of independence and may have authority over process adjustments and decisions.</li><li>Conducts detailed setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of equipment.</li><li>Monitors production performance, quality control, and process optimization.</li><li>May assist in training, mentoring, or supervising junior operators.</li></ul>Production Operator Lead:<ul><li>Leadership position overseeing a team of production process.</li><li>Manages and coordinates the activities of the production team.</li><li>Provides guidance, training, and support to operators.</li><li>Monitors production schedules, assigns tasks, and ensures targets are met.</li><li>Acts as a liaison between management and the production team.</li><li>Collaborates with other departments to resolve issues and drive process improvements.</li><li>May be responsible for training programs and enforcing safety protocols.</li><li>Possesses strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.</li></ul>Who We’re Looking ForTeam Wellie is a group of people who are truly obsessed in all the best ways about winning for the consumer and the pets they love. PURPOSE STATEMENT: To receive/check-in merchandise, assure that merchandise received matches invoice, and return damages product for credit. SIGNIFICANT JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:<ol><li>To prepare the back room for receipt of merchandise and unload trucks. </li><li>To count and inspect merchandise and match to invoice.</li><li>To keep receiving area secure and damage reclaim area neat and organized.</li><li>To assure the safety of self, customers and co-workers by understanding and practicing store safety rules and notifying a supervisor of any potential hazard immediately. Pick up/remove all broken containers, packing materials/boxes from the backroom floor.</li><li>To perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors and manager, substituting for absent workers and performing any additional tasks necessary to provide products and services to customers during peak periods of business.</li><li>To understand the operation, safety requirements and restraints of a baler, case cutter, pallet jack and fork lift (must be 18 years or older to operate the pallet jack, fork lift and baler).</li><li>To use stacking techniques that will prevent damage to product.</li><li>To remove trash from area, operate the baler, put the compacted bale on a pallet and load salvage onto trucks.</li></ol>SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Receiving Clerks report directly to the Grocery Manager or Store Manager. QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED:<ol><li>Basic mathematical ability (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and ability to count.</li><li>Able to give/receive complex verbal instructions/descriptions to/from supervisors/co-workers/vendors concerning store/department policy/procedures and use of equipment.</li><li>Able to pass basic physical examination and drug screen.</li><li>A stable work and educational history.</li><li>The ability to read and write English. The able to read instructions, merchandise labels, warehouse order codes, invoices, printed paper and forms.</li><li>Make judgments concerning receiving, inspection of merchandise as to the extent of unsalable product damage, and the placement of case/pallets in storage and overhead racks.</li><li>Able to move and stack product so that it will not be damaged.</li><li>Good interpersonal communication skills.</li></ol>PREFERRED:<ol><li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Prior experience in a related type of job.</li><li>Prior experience operating a baler, case cutter, pallet jack and fork lift. (Must be 18 years or older to operate pallet jacks, baler, and forklift.)</li></ol>TASKS OF THE JOB -- This job generally includes:<ol><li>Mobility:<ul><li>To move cases from truck/pallet to backroom for storage, approximately 50 yards.</li><li>To stack cases on floor/skid/rack/shelf.</li><li>To move cardboard/packing material to the baler, approximately 50 yards.</li><li>To move excess cases/damaged product from damage storage area to the truck, approximately 50 yards.</li><li>To move through the entire backroom of the store for supplies/product/ maintenance equipment and return, approximately 75 yards.</li></ul></li><li>Work on tile or concrete for a maximum of 8 hours in duration. </li><li>Lift and stack empty pallets from floor to 72 inches overhead. </li><li>Lift a maximum of 100 lbs. from 6 inches to 48 inches. </li><li>Lift a maximum of 75 lbs. from 6 inches to 84 inches on to overhead/backroom storage rack. </li><li>Move cardboard into baler, approximately 4 feet. (Must be 18 years or older to move cardboard into baler.) </li><li>Carry a maximum of 100 lbs. up to 15 feet. </li><li>Pick up/move/sort/ (a/an) case/item/trash/from floor/shelf/ ground/pallet/rack storage. </li><li>Use maintenance and product transportation equipment.</li><li>Place merchandise/cases on the top of grocery overhead/backroom storage shelves/rack, up to 84 inches from the floor.</li><li>Reach forward/down up to 36 inches to attain merchandise on stocking cart or pallets.</li><li>Reach forward/down up to 36 inches to clean backroom shelves/floor area or control maintenance/stocking equipment.</li><li>Reach forward/down/up to 36 inches to place cases on floor/shelving.</li><li>Handle labels/signs/tags.</li><li>Handle case cutter/utility knife.</li><li>Grasp and handle wet/cold/hot/crushable/metal/paper/plastic store products.</li><li>Handle cardboard/packaging and debris.</li><li>Manipulate maintenance equipment handles/grasps/knobs.</li><li>Twist at the waist while cleaning, sorting, load/unloading, moving/removing merchandise, stocking merchandise and cleaning work area.</li><li>Kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, bend at the waist/knees to count and physically touch merchandise </li><li>Move fully loaded stocking carts, pallet jacks (up to 1000 lbs.) and maintenance equipment approximately 75 yards.</li><li>Climb on ladders, cases, shelving and stairs up to 15 feet in height.</li><li>Balance on cases of product and overhead rack.</li><li>Pick up cardboard, packaging and debris from floor.</li><li>Perform maintenance and sanitation functions.</li><li>See cases, vendors, case strips, invoices, computerized receiving displays, product size/description, labels on products, stocking carts, debris on floor, and signs.</li><li>Perceive color difference on product labels.</li><li>Recognize cleaning/maintenance equipment, pallet jacks, fork lifts, computerized receiving displays and baler controls.</li><li>Respond to intercom.</li><li>Respond to co-workers questions.</li><li>Respond to vendor/driver questions/comments.</li><li>Respond to the sound of baler/pallet jack/fork lift/cleaning equipment operation.</li><li>Communicate with vendors/drivers.</li><li>Use the intercom system.</li><li>Communicate with co-workers.</li><li>Read case labels/strips, signs, tags, shelf signs, numbers and aisle markers.</li><li>Read equipment and chemical warning labels.</li></ol>WORK ENVIRONMENT: Inside and outside work with extreme variations in heat/cold/ dust/humidity.
