General knowledge of tools, equipment, methods, materials, and terminology used in the paint trade· General knowledge of safety procedures as they relate to the use of paints, solvents, glues, tools, and equipment· Demonstrates basic knowledge of estimating, planning, and controlling cost of repair jobs· Demonstrates proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems· Knowledge of safety procedures as they relate to the use of paints, solvents, glues, tools and equipment · Skilled in the application of paints and other finishes by brush or spray gun· Quality control analysis skills to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance· Operation and control skills for controlling the operation of equipment or systems· Equipment selection skills by determining the kinds of tools and equipment needed to do a job· Ability to operate a forklift and an overhead crane· The ability to quickly and repeatedly operate the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions· Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair· The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects· The ability to read, write, and understand information · The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences· Ability to learn the more complex aspects of the paint trade. Work Environment:· Regularly works indoors in non-controlled environmental conditions and around moving mechanical parts, unfavorable fumes and odors, and hazardous chemicals· May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity · Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable· Exposure to contaminants, small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high speed rotating equipment· Requires wearing specialized protective or safety equipment· Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places· Requires being exact or highly accurate.
